Wheels Raises Over $100,000 for United Way of Metro Chicago for Second Year

Des Plaines, Ill, July 21, 2021 – Wheels, Inc., a leader in the automotive fleet management and services industry, recently completed its 2021 United Way fundraising campaign, ultimately raising over $100,000 for the United Way of Metro Chicago.

Wheels matched employee donations two-to-one. Wheels employees raised over $35,000, totaling over $100,000 with the Wheels match. 

“This campaign is so meaningful to the Wheels community,” said Mary Formosa, vice president of human resources at Wheels. “Every year, it gives us a chance to support our region and help others who may be less fortunate than ourselves. This year was especially important, as we continued to face challenges brought on by the coronavirus as well as social unrest. We take pride in partnering with United Way and making a positive impact for individuals in our local community through a variety of neighborhood networks and diverse partner agencies, with a goal to make Chicagoland a more equitable region for all.”

Wheels CEO Dan Frank kicked off the campaign with a letter to all employees about the importance of supporting this worthwhile cause, featuring a full list of United Way of Metro Chicago partner agencies. This year, employees had the option to select a specific United Way partner agency of their choice for donation, to support a cause that may be especially significant to them.

United Way also allowed Wheels to designate funding to a specific partner agency of choice, a local COVID-19 Fund and the United Way Worldwide COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund to support those communities in our area and beyond that were hardest hit by the pandemic.
