The Wheels & Ayvens alliance, a longstanding partnership is set to emerge as a cornerstone in the global sustainable mobility sector.
Originating from a shared vision for sustainable mobility and a commitment to innovation, the alliance with Wheels was first announced in 2009. Now, our alliance is entering a new chapter and is stronger than ever, meeting the complexity of mobility and the global challenges our clients face today. With mobility changing at a rapid pace, we’ve listened to the market and our clients, and there’s an undeniable need for a global framework to support international clients in developing effective EV transition strategies that span across borders. With the integration of LeasePlan US into Wheels, and the recent acquisition of LeasePlan by ALD Automotive, now together as Ayvens, we’re taking concrete actions to leverage our solutions and realise an alliance the first of its kind.
Together, we cater over 150 clients worldwide, with a collective fleet size of just over 500,000 vehicles. The Wheels & Ayvens alliance is fully in line with our PowerUP 26 strategy and is set to strengthen our position as the #1 global multi-brand and multi-channel player, with an unmatched commitment to innovation and service quality.
Below we outline the new propositions and steps we’re taking to revolutionise fleet management through unparalleled offerings and service quality.
What does the alliance mean for our clients
The alliance is structured upon three key pillars:
- Global account management
With the combined strength of two global mobility solutions providers, we can manage local fleets in the context of global goals. Meaning, our clients will benefit from expert facilitation of international fleet agreements, strategy, and enjoy the ease of one global account management team. - Global reporting
This alliance means we’re the first provider to introduce one single, harmonized global online reporting tool. Our clients can merge global fleet data from Wheels and Ayvens, offering improved insights into global fleet costs, flexible reporting solutions, and compliance with international fleet policy. - Global consultancy
With a global network of consultants across the globe in all 42 markets, working with the same data-driven methodology and tools, we’re ready to support our clients. In-house experts from both sides will supply clients with market knowledge, benchmarking, whitepapers, and the annual Wheels-Ayvens Mobility Guide. An essential part of our consultancy proposition is to advise clients on their sustainable mobility strategy and the opportunities available to transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
5-step methodology
On top of the three key pillars from which the alliance is structured, we have built a tried and tested methodology to advise and manage our clients needs, according to their emissions reduction goals.
- Diagnose: It all starts with a benchmarking analysis to explore the clients’ country and employee EV readiness. With this, we create a CO2 & TCO (Total cost of ownership) baseline to define the sustainability targets.
- Model CO2 & TCO scenarios: By estimating our client’s CO2 & TCO statistics for the coming years, we can better predict their needs for the future.
- Select the best solutions: Following an optimisation of energy costs, vehicles and OEM selection, we examine the possibilities for multimodal mobility and select the best charging solutions tailored to our client.
- Engage stakeholders & employees: Change management is a pivotal part of the process, and we support our clients in strengthening their business case and providing training throughout the journey.
- Implement, monitor & optimise: Having selected the desired solution, the global account management team will update the client’s mobility policy, manage the implementation, set up reporting capabilities and measure employee satisfaction.
The steps outlined above will inevitably help our clients meet the challenges we see emerging in mobility today. One thing’s for sure, when it comes to sustainable mobility, zero means zero, and if corporations want to meet such requirements, they need hands-on consultancy solutions that can tackle their electrification transition globally.
