It’s a wrap. Another eventful year at Wheels is in the books. In 2019, we celebrated many product innovations, from FleetView Mobile to Connected Vehicle.
There is lots to come in calendar year 2020, but let’s recap the innovations that closed out 2019.
Wheels Mobile Assistant Benefits Fleet Drivers
In 2018, David Glines, senior manager of product innovation at Wheels, wrote a robust roundup on Wheels Mobile Assistant’s productivity benefits for drivers. Well, 2019 has been another landmark year for the mobile app.
Today, drivers are saving more than 224,000 collective hours by adding their mileage via the app or tracking it with the GPS AutoLog. They’re also frequently viewing statuses of their vehicle orders and locating service shops via the app.
Some of the new features added this year are service history, timesaver history, driver feedback, maintenance confirmations and photos made viewable for WheelsDirect vehicles for sale.
Coming soon in January: drivers can view violations history, pay violations, and submit license plate information—if it’s missing.
Vehicle Inventory Management Integration
In 2019, we also made advancements to our vehicle inventory management tool. There’s greater integrations with transport supplier partners and a sophisticated recommendation engine to identify the optimal vehicle to select from storage. Additionally, the tool tracks the completion of all steps (fuel card, toll transponder, MAP passport, state transfer, rental return, etc.) necessary to deliver a road-ready vehicle.
Other features of importance are the surplus inventory visibility, vehicle condition reports and real-time quoting and ordering with transport providers.
Fleet Requests Launch On FleetView
Our newly updated request management process allows clients to submit and view their inquiries online in FleetView. Wheels account executives and other team members use the same system, which ensures clients have access to the most up-to-date information.
The estimated completion date feature assigns a completion timeframe for each request leveraging historical data and our KPIs. These are educated forecasts of when a solution should be delivered to the client. Also, clients can ask a question about their request and the system immediately routes the question to the Wheels’ associate working on the specific request.
FleetView Analytics wins a Stevie® Award
Our FleetView Analytics tool won a gold Stevie® Award this year! The analytics tool features 60 configurable home page titles, more than 25 interactive dashboards and a redesigned custom query tool. Additionally, you can schedule dashboards and custom queries for delivery via email to yourself or a team member.
Connected Vehicle Evolution
This year we’ve also added FleetView visibility into our connected vehicle solution. You can identify active diagnostic trouble codes, vehicle utilization and driver behavior. Our fully integrated platform allows data integration for Geotab, OEMs and third-party, plug-in connections. The tool also normalizes data between different telematics providers and incorporates driver behavior, trip information, vehicle health and improved odometer accuracy.
