Wheels plans two-part best practice event series to showcase Canadian capabilities

This spring and summer, Wheels will be sponsoring a special two-part best practice event series that will showcase our selector development and remarketing capabilities in Canada.

On Wednesday, April 18, Wheels will be hosting a special remarketing Promotional Sale auction at ADESA Toronto.  Promotional Sales are a unique remarketing strategy developed by Wheels to actively promote the sale of our clients’ vehicles at premium auction facilities across the continent. These dynamic sales are target-marketed to a specific selection of dealers that have historically purchased the types of vehicles available during the event, and typically yield very favorable resale proceeds for our clients.

Then on Wednesday, August 29, clients are welcomed to join us for a Ride & Drive event at the Mississauga Convention Centre.  Guests at the Ride & Drive will have the opportunity to test-drive the latest fleet vehicle models from a variety of manufacturers. The Ride & Drive will also feature a demonstration of new Wheels tools available to help make optimal vehicle selector decisions, as well as discussions on ordering best practices and other important industry topics.

Clients and prospective clients from both the U.S. and Canada are encouraged to attend either or both of these exciting events. Those who are interested in attending can click here to complete an online registration form.

Wheels named to the Companies That Care Honor Roll

We are pleased to announce that Wheels has again been named to the Companies that Care Honor Roll.

The Center for Companies That Care is a national, non-profit association aimed at promoting strong intra-company environments, as well as positive relationships between companies and their surrounding communities.

Organizations are selected for the Companies That Care Honor Roll by demonstrating that they consistently practice the "Ten Characteristics" of socially responsible employers. These characteristics include sustaining a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees, developing strong leadership at all levels, appreciating and recognizing the contributions of employees, and staying involved in community endeavors.  The two key components of the selection process are a written application and employee survey results.

This award is a testament to Wheels' ongoing commitment to sustaining a great working environment and staying involved in the community through various outreach programs.  Wheels and other 2012 honorees will be officially recognized at an awards event on May 9 in Chicago.

Subaru announces stop sale on all 2009-2012 Foresters

Subaru has announced a stop sale on all 2009-2012 Forester vehicles due to concerns that the center rear seatbelts on affected models do not adequately comply with federal standards for child safety seats.

The manufacturer said that any affected vehicles that are currently in dealer lots or any stage of the production or delivery process cannot be handed over to drivers until the defects are fixed.

Subaru will also be issuing a recall of any 2009-2012 Forester models already on the road.  Each driver affected by the recall will receive an official notice and instructions, and can have his or her vehicle serviced at a certified dealership free of charge.

Wheels remains in constant communication with Subaru, and we will continue to keep clients informed as we obtain any additional information on the situation.
